Global Drifts is a distributed site-specific work, individual elements of which took place in three cities, Brisbane Australia, Seoul Korea and Chichester, England. Global Drifts has been developed by Sarah Rubidge and Stan Wijnans (UK), Hellen Sky and Sarah Rubidge (Australia) and Hyojung Seo and Seunghye Kim (Korea).
In the Siobhan Davies Studios, London, UK an interactive installation was presented. Body movements of the audience changed video pictures by Sarah Rubidge interactively using Isadora software accompanied by a non-linear composition by Stan Wijnans. The composition integrated streamed live sounds from the performance project in Brisbane by Seunghye Kim.
In Australia sonic and visual imagery were sent to and from the three countries through streaming technologies, exploring contemporary reciprocal electronic flows, alongside the more physical conduits between bodies, places, histories, cultures. Performers and/or audiences in each site altered the imagery they generated and received in real-time through their movement behaviours.
